Brewpub Domus: unique in BelgiumAt the beginning of the previous century Belgium boasted more than 4,000 breweries. As a consequence, most of the beers brewed at that time could be traced back to specific regions or even to specific pubs. The Domus pub in the Tiensestraat in Leuven has been brewing and serving its own beer since 1985. A first in the Benelux area. Even now Domus is the only brewpub in Belgium.What should you imagine when you hear the term "brewpub"? The name says it all really: a small brewery, directly linked to a pub. Or, if you prefer, a pub with its own microbrewery. This allows beer lovers to enjoy the brews under ideal conditions.The Domus brewpub uses small-scale yet modern equipment to produce good traditional ales, without any additives. We currently produce three different ales, each brewed here, in our own brewpub. "Con Domus" and "Nostra Domus" are available all year round. "Nen Engel" is a seasonal beer that is only available from November till February.Love and craftsmanship ensure a naturally pure beerAlthough the actual tastes of the beers we brew may differ, all beers from brewpub Domus share the following characteristics: they are all brewed with love and craftsmanship. We only use the best ingredients and refuse to force or speed up the brewing process. That way the beer has time to ferment and mature in accordance with the traditional brewing methods. The result: naturally pure beers. A pipeline was installed to take the beer straight from the brewery to the pub. There they can be pulled, served and enjoyed under ideal conditions.
